• War of the Sections 2013 : So it Begins…

    With the new batch past its initial homesickness, two of the biggest rival clubs of IIM-Bangalore, the Cultural Committee and the Forum for Industrial Interaction, came together to organize the first-of-its-kind War Of The Sections.  Designed as a hybrid event consisting of both cultural and business competitions, the two-day extravaganza starting on July 20 kicked off the traditional inter-section rivalry in style.

  • Teach to Transform: More than 200 students from IIMB sign-up for teaching initiatives

    Youth for Seva is a platform that provides opportunities for youth to take active part in community development despite time constraints. The goal of YFS is to support schools, NGOs, government hospitals and other organizations in the social sector through providing volunteers. YFS has had over 5,000 volunteers in the past 5 years.  At YFS, volunteering is customized to the individual’s interests and time constraints. It has various modules for volunteering such as Weekend, Weekday, Vacation, Fellowship, Internship and Virtual Volunteering models.

  • Budding marketers fight it out

    Marketing, as we know it, took a whole new form on the eve of 25th July at L square, IIM Bangalore. With light music in the background, a hundred eager voices calling out the answers to rapid fire questions and a drizzle that is characteristic of Bangalore weather, MaShterix – the first inter-section event by ‘MaSh – The Marketing club of IIM Bangalore’, kicked off in a wonderful manner.

  • A drop of blood to life!!

    It is said that “Blood is red gold at the time of saving a life”. It was a day when the cumulative efforts of students at IIM Bangalore brought a change to the lives of many people. On Saturday, 20th July, Vikasana and Prayaas (the social clubs at IIM-Bangalore) in association with Lions Blood Bank conducted a Blood Donation Camp in the campus to support the surgeries of poor people who are in need of this red gold.

  • Be a Hero… Give Blood!

    Budding managers at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore demonstrated their sensitivity towards the society this Saturday, by hosting a successful blood donation camp in association with Lions Club of Bangalore. The blood donation camp was organized in 2006 for the first time. Since then, the camp which is held twice a year has seen nearly 100 student donors every time. With the completion of this camp, Vikasana has helped raise 161 units of blood in the past one year. The donated blood would be stored at the Lions Club Blood Bank and blood banks at associated hospitals such as NIMHANS.

  • Yamini – The Dusk to Dawn Classical Music Experience

    On the eve of Republic Day, the IIMB Chapter of SPIC MACAY presents Yamini 2013, the dusk to dawn musical night at the scenic Open Air Theatre at IIM-Bangalore, featuring the doyens of Indian classical music and dance. This series of concerts brings together a selection of stars plucked from the galaxy of Indian classical music and seeks to light the night with an enchanting musical experience.   • War of Sections 2012

    Viveka Sra (PGP 2012-14) writes about the WAR between the sections!!  It was the week after Aarambh, the first year was reveling in the wonderful cultural commencement of the times to come, when the bugle of war split this community into A, B, C, D and E. Each of the sections, under the command of their CRs was ready to conquer the battlefield. The first event called the ‘Ice Breaker’ conducted by the Sports Council managed to turn up the heat.   • Blood Donation Camp at IIMB

    Student managers at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore demonstrated their sensitivity towards the society last Saturday, the 21st of July, by hosting a hugely successful blood donation camp in association with Narayana Hrudayalaya and Sparsh hospitals. The blood donation camp, which has become integral with the social fabric of the institution was, for the first time organized in 2006. Such camps are organised twice a year since then, with around 100 student donors volunteering to donate blood on each instance.This year the day-long camp saw a collection of 101 units of blood.
