  • Sangharsh 2018- The Battle Begins

    Sangharsh started all the way back in 2007 as a sports tournament between IIMA and IIMB. In 2011, IIMC and IIML joined the roster, making it the tournament it is today. 2018 would be the 12th edition of the sporting fest, with IIMA winning the maximum number of times, followed by IIMB, IIMC, and IIML. The 2017 edition was held in IIMC, with the hosts emerging as winners followed by IIMB as the runner-ups, followed by IIML and IIMA respectively. Sangharsh follows a unique system with multiple medal and non-medal sporting events. Then non-medal sports are generally played for 2-3 years before being accepted as medal sports by general consensus.…

  • Virasat 2017 – “Qawwali Evening”

    Friday, 17th November 2017 It’s not every day that one gets to listen to a Qawwali Concert, and the IIMB community got just that opportunity last Friday as we hosted Ustad Ateeq Hussain Khan Bandanawazi and his group, Bandanawazi Qawwal as part of SPICMACAY’s Virasat series of concerts. Qawwali is a form of Sufi devotional music with a rich tradition that stretches back for more than 700 years. The great Sufi saint Amir Khusrao is credited with fusing Persian, Arabic, Turkish and Indian Classical musical traditions to create Qawwali as we know it today. Originally performed at Sufi shrines, it gained mainstream popularity and international audience in the late 20th century.…

  • Sangram 2017 – The Championship of Sportsmanship

They reveal it.” – Heywood Broun Early morning of November 17th, 2017 saw four contingents from some of the premier B-schools in India converge at the fog-draped city of Kozhikode to set in motion the Sports war of South IIMs – Sangram.
