Aarambh 2015- Inception, the IIMB Way

Aayush Agarwal, PGP 2015-17

I often wondered why people called IIMB as the place to ‘B’. But then, I had not seen an Aarambh before. Every year, Aarambh, as the name suggests, marks the beginning of the new academic year at IIMB. The cultural extravaganza is known to bring together all the students to celebrate culture, diversity, hard work and excellence. Aarambh 2015, held on 28th June, continued the tradition and welcomed its new batch of PGP1 students amidst lights, sound and much fanfare.

The evening began with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony and quickly attained its grandeur of the ultimate cultural fiesta. The brightest minds of the country occupied the centre stage and dazzled the audience with their talent. Performances ranging from Bharatnatyam to Bollywood, bhangra to hip-hop, and Indian classical to pop music left the audience craving for more. Since, casting a musical spell was not enough, the dramatics team with its comic play had the audience in splits with requests of an encore. The night also saw our future CEOs do a fashion parade, giving professional models a run for their money.

While the on-stage teams won our hearts with their captivating performances, the behind the scenes organizing teams won our respect for leaving no stone unturned in making this event a reality. It was the persistent pitching efforts of the sponsorship team that got big brands such as Housing.com to sponsor the title. Publicity and Emcee teams with their creative efforts generated a lot of curiosity and interest in no time. And the backbone of the event, the Infrastructure team worked round the clock to cover every minute detail.

It was the enthusiasm and teamwork of PGP1s and the overall support of PGP2s that made Aarambh2015 truly memorable. It wasn’t just a cultural festival but more. It was coming together of different people to work in unison towards the achievement of a common goal. They did and how! In words of Henry Ford,
“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”
It’s a great AARAMBH, and I believe the best is yet to come.
