Engage with the (Visually Challenged) Indian cricket team

Visually Challenged Cricket Team

Vikasana is proud to share some very unique news with you. We are facilitating the practice sessions for the (visually challenged) Indian cricket team in association with the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled.  The team is using the IIMB cricket ground for a week in preparation for the T-20 World cup cricket tournament for the blind. Vikasana also facilitated practice in 2010, when the Indian blind cricket team travelled to England and won the series by 4-0 (Indian cricket team –  it’s time you took some pointers).

This year, the first ever T-20 world cup cricket tournament for the blind will be held in Bangalore from 1st to 13th December 2012. It is being organized by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) affiliated to World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC) and Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) a sports initiative of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled Bangalore. The tournament will see participation from Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies and Sri Lanka along with new entrants Nepal. The tournament will be played on league – cum knockout basis in different grounds in Bangalore city.

Vikasana and the Sports Council are excited to help the team. We hope and pray they will win the world cup for our country.
