Eximius 2012 kicked off in grand fashion on Aug 11, 2012. The two day event was flagged off with the inauguration ceremony for which Mr. Ramji Raghavan, Founder and Chairman of Agastaya Foundation was the Chief Guest. Mr. Raghavan congratulated IIMB and its Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell for organizing India’s largest Entrepreneurship summit. He encouraged the students to take the path of entrepreneurship and become nation builders.
The Inauguration ceremony was followed by a social entrepreneurship case study competition for which eminent personalities like Prof P Sudarshan, CEO ASCO- India, Maharaja Gokulavasan , Head of Delivery , RuralShores , Ms. Shukla Bose , Founder and CEO of Parikrama Humanity Foundation were the judges. The event required the students to come up with solutions to live problems faced by NGO’s and other social organizations. This event was followed with an entrepreneurship workshop conducted by Dr. K . Srikrishna, Executive Director, National Entrepreneurship Network. The workshop saw participation from a large number of students and Dr. Srikrishna showcased various frameworks which a budding Entrepreneur could use to take the leap of faith and setup his own venture.
A Business Evaluation workshop was conducted by Mr. Rutvik Doshi, Principal Inventus (India) Advisors. He showcased the various tools and techniques to be used while evaluating the worth of one’s business. The workshop was followed by the final round of a business valuation competition Next Up which saw participation of students from across the length and breadth of India.
A panel discussion on the theme of EXIMIUS “Failure Fuels Success” was held in the evening which saw successful entrepreneurs share their experiences and failures, the diverse panel included Dr. Gautam Sathia ,MD & CEO of Bioquest , Sean Blagsvedt CEO, babajobs.com, Rajiv Jayaraman CEO, KNOLSKAPE and Sunil Kumar Sarangi ,Consultant, National Entrepreneurship Network.
The highlight of the day was the Keynote address by Mr. Harish Bijoor Brand-expert & CEO, Harish Bijoor Consults Inc. He discussed the impact of marketing on start-ups and also discussed his formulae for a successful start-up.
The two day event will see participation from more than 80 colleges across India and will attract some of the biggest VC’s and other eminent personalities in the campus. The flagship events lined up on 12th August include INGEN , The business plan competition, a panel discussion on women Entrepreneurs and Level Up a case study competition on marketing conducted in collaboration with ITC Classmate.
