Kuchipudi dance by Smt. Vyjayanthi Kashi

SPICMACAY, IIMB chapter organised Kuchipudi dance performance by Smt. Vyjayanthi Kashi as the first in Virasat series in the session. Smt Vyjayanthi Kashi’s career spans over an impressive spectrum of performance, choreography, teaching, acting, research and organizing. She is currently serving on the Arts and Cultural Committee of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural, Government of India.She has been honored with several awards including Central Sangeeth Natak Academy Puraskar, Karnataka State Rajyothsav Award , Kala Shree from KSNA , Zee Astitva, Araya Bhatta, Alva’s Nudisiri Puraskar and Vocational Excellence Awards for her contribution to Kuchipudi.

Accompanied by Ms Prateeksha Kashi, her daughter and disciple, Smt. Ramya Suraj on Vocals, Sh.Ganesh on Flute and Sh.Giridhar on Mridangam, the beautiful presentation of Kuchipudi mesmerized everyone in the audience. She started with dedication to the god. Duet dance presentation of story of Trivakra’s sufferings enacted by Smt Vyjayanthi Kashi who is waiting for Lord Krishna, played by Ms. Prateeksha, at the palace of Kansa was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.


With the performance ending on such high note, audience left with hopes of much more of such performances which allow you to connect to your roots.
