Vikasana, in association with Rang de, organized an event Run To Empower, on 12th November 2017. Rang De is a not-for-profit funded by Tata Trusts, working to alleviate poverty by providing low-cost loans to low-income communities in India. In its mission to bridge the gap between rural and urban India, Rang De has raised over 59,000 loans totaling over INR 60 crores.
The event started with an address by the guest speaker, Aparna Prabhudesai, at 07.00 am. She spoke about the importance of running and exercise and how Bangalore as a city had changed her life. The speech ended with her flagging off the event.
More than 200 participants ran 3km across the IIM Bangalore. These participants consisted of people from corporates, and also children. The participants started with a warm-up session guided by Gold Gym trainers and our guest speaker.
The participant who came first finished the run in 14.02 mins. All the participants were provided breakfast post the event.
