When hips were shaken & pots were broken

DanceLast Wednesday, at the stroke of the twenty second hour, the Volley Ball Court at IIMB was abuzz with energy and the subtle fragrance of the growing bonds of friendship between people from diverse cultures. The Exchange ice Breaker and the inter-section Matki Phod events organized by the Students’ Cultural Committee saw the entire diverse group of Indian and foreign students come together. The Ice Breaker saw the exchange students dance to the Indian tunes of Govinda and dress up like the “Punjabi Mundas”. The students also played the traditional game of creating a human pyramid to reach the high hanging rope and break the “Matki” with the “Nariyal”. The event saw respite from inter- section rivalry when people across sections came together as one team to play the game in its true spirit of friendship and sportsmanship. No one was left out of the team, be it girls or the shorter ones who found it difficult to reach the rope! As Abbey says, “One man alone can be pretty dumb sometimes but for real bona fide stupidity, there ain’t nothin’ can beat stupidity!”

Media Cell IIMB is the student run outreach and communication committee of IIM Bangalore dedicated to form the bridge within the student community and the outside world.
