• Eximius’13 Launch in collaboration with Vikasana

    The launch of IIM Bangalore’s annual business festival and one of the largest of its kind in India, Eximius ’13 was kick started by a humble effort in line with the underlying theme of Eximius- ‘Ideas on Action’. Entrepreneurship & Innovation Cell in collaboration with Vikasana, both student run committees at IIM Bangalore helped put this endeavor together and propel the need for social consciousness. The event was held on 03 July, 2013 at Veerabhadranagar Slum, Hosakerehalli, a village in south west Bangalore.

  • IIMB relaunches PGSEM

    The Deccan Herald | July 28, 2013 Bangalore: The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) has relaunched the Postgraduate Programme in Software Enterprise Management (PGSEM) as the Postgraduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM). A change to the decade-long programme was made in light of the “dynamic environment and the need for contemporary management practice,” according to a press release issued by the institution. The programme is also new in the respect that it will now also be open to executives from service and other industrial sectors, besides software professionals — its primarily target earlier.

    Marketing, as we know it, took a whole new form on the eve of 25th July at L square, IIM Bangalore. With light music in the background, a hundred eager voices calling out the answers to rapid fire questions and a drizzle that is characteristic of Bangalore weather, MaShterix – the first inter-section event by ‘MaSh – The Marketing club of IIM Bangalore’, kicked off in a wonderful manner.

  • Tele-education to be launched in government schools soon, The government and IIMB to jointly implement the project.

Deepika, The Hindu | 26 July 2013 Bangalore: The Department of Primary and Secondary Education and the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) will jointly launch tele-education in government schools. The collaboration announced in the State Budget will be an extension of the pilot project implemented in 2010-12. The Satellite and Advanced Multimedia Education (SAME) project, introduced in 14 government high schools in Gubbi taluk, aimed at addressing the obstacles in the present system by providing satellite-based training for students of Classes 8 to 10 in mathematics, science and English. Animation and other innovative multimedia platforms have been integrated with the school curriculum to help students.

  • A drop of blood to life!!

    It is said that “Blood is red gold at the time of saving a life”. It was a day when the cumulative efforts of students at IIM Bangalore brought a change to the lives of many people. On Saturday, 20th July, Vikasana and Prayaas (the social clubs at IIM-Bangalore) in association with Lions Blood Bank conducted a Blood Donation Camp in the campus to support the surgeries of poor people who are in need of this red gold.

IIM Bangalore, ISB, IIM Indore and IIM Ahmedabad are introducing specialised courses on real estate and infrastructure management, and in return, are attracting a dedicated stream of real estate companies during placement time. The demand for these courses is high. “Infrastructure management was introduced last month for the 2014 batch and to our surprise, 75 students, the maximum a class can take, registered for it,” says S Nayana Tara, teacher at centre for public policy, IIM-B.
