IIM Bangalore announces General Management Programme for Entertainment & Media Industry professionals

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) announces a General Management Programme for Entertainment and Media Industry professionals to be held at the IIMB campus on September 3-5, 2012.

This innovative executive education programme, now into the fourth batch, is designed to help senior executives in the fast changing entertainment and media industry reckon with emerging challenges and opportunities and hone their capabilities to address ideas, technologies, and emerging opportunities. With content based on original research of the strategic issues facing media and entertainment industry, the course will provide a deeper understanding of the critical issues impacting the industry.

We all have some childhood memories that we cherish. There are rare moments from your school days which you fondly recall, some which cannot be relived. The daily dose of backyard cricket in the evenings, school annual days, summer vacations and visits to grandparents’ houses, the occasional foreign gifts from an uncle working in the Gulf, family get togethers when you crash on the floor with your cousins at night etc… are the  best pages in our diaries. For every Malayali, the festival of Onam evokes similar feelings, but in a much stronger manner.

CAs make beeline for B-schools

Aadit Devanand, 22, who completed Chartered Accountancy (CA) a year ago, is now pursuing MBA at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore.

On choosing management over CA, Devanand said, “I wanted to complete my formal education as a CA as it was mainly a correspondence course. With a management degree in finance, which complements CA, I can apply and present things better.”

INGEN is the flagship B-plan contest of Eximius, the Entrepreneurship Summit at IIM Bangalore that provides budding entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their ideas that could be the next big startup. This year INGEN attracted more than 150 B-plan submissions from pan India out of which 8 teams were finally shortlisted to present their business ideas to the VCs and an open audience on 2nd day of Eximius. After a very close competition, a business venture for ‘Solar Powered Crop Harvesting Machine’ emerged as the winner of the competition.

Eximius 2012 – Day 1 Updates

Eximius 1st day

Eximius 2012 kicked off in grand fashion on Aug 11, 2012. The two day event was flagged off with the inauguration ceremony for which Mr. Ramji Raghavan,  Founder and Chairman of Agastaya Foundation was the Chief Guest. Mr. Raghavan congratulated IIMB and its Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell for organizing India’s largest Entrepreneurship summit. He encouraged the students to take the path of entrepreneurship and become nation builders.
