IIM Bangalore to celebrate 39th foundation day on 29 Oct

IIM-Bangalore NewsIndian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore is the third oldest Business School among the IIMs. IIM Bangalore was established in the year 1973, the Institute since then has come a long way. IIM Bangalore offers various Doctoral and Post Graduate Programmes in Management. The Institute spread across 100 acres in South Bangalore with stone architecture, lush verdant woods and landscaped gardens.

On 29 October IIM Bangalore will celebrate it’s 39th foundation day, this year, Dr. Ramachandra Guha, historian and biographer, will deliver the Annual Foundation Day Lecture. Dr. Ramachandra Guha is an Indian historian and writer whose research interests have included environmental, social, political and cricket history.

CREDAI ropes in IIM-B for upcoming institute

With its institute for research and professional studies set to come up near Ahmedabad, real estate body Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India ( CREDAI) has roped in the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) for the same.

“We are setting up an institute of research and professional studies in real estate for aspiring professionals near Ahmedabad. Apart from research facilities, we will offer courses on various real estate related subjects. For this, we have tied up with IIM Bangalore which will help us in creating the curriculum from the management perspective,” said Jaxay Shah, vice president of CREDAI and director of Savvy Infrastructure Ltd.

What was expected to be a gem of an event, turned out to be a string of pearls in earnest.
IIMB organized a media conclave on the ultimate day of the 3-day bonanza, Vista 2012, India’s largest B-School Summit.

The speakers on the dais were Ms. Kalpana Morparia, CEO JP Morgan (India), Ms Tania Sachdev, a Chess grandmaster, Ms. Neha Bhasin, a singer and copywriter and Mr. Sarath Babu E, Founder of Foodking, an IIMA alumnus & a budding politician.

Vista 2012 – The full picture :)

Once upon a time, long ago there was a faraway land called ‘Somewhere’, ruled by an efficient king. Because the king wanted to make the life of his subjects easy, he formed a committee of his ministers to frame a set of conventions that would illustrate the means of carrying out all tasks. This document, aptly named ‘the rulebook’ was widely circulated and enforced until all the subjects started following it religiously. Soon, the entire kingdom was mechanized as everything became routine and the subjects became mere puppets guided by the strings of ‘the rulebook’. Even the king turned apathetic and confined himself to the comforts of his palace. The kingdom was stuck in a rut and all progress slowly stopped. The empire eventually declined and today the kingdom of ‘Somewhere’ is nowhere to be found.
