It is that time of the year when students at IIM Bangalore gear up for their final placements season. With multiple companies waiting to hire the best talent across the county, IIMB’s final placements are keenly followed throughout the country.

However, beating the conventional trend, there are students who prefer to walk down the entrepreneurship lane. Aditya Kulkarni, a student of 2011-2013 batch at IIM Bangalore, is one such student who has voluntarily opted out of the process. Always interested in the education sector, Aditya, along his friend Mr. Rishikar, an alumnus of IIT Madras, has founded ‘Learning Outcomes’, a company that aims at making child assessment in schools a holistic process. Says Aditya, “There are quite a few standard tests available today to evaluate a child’s performance but there is a serious need for an effective diagnostic tool.”  Their aim is to make assessments at schools a pedagogical tool and not a tool for measurement. He believes that schools have ample data about a child’s performance but the same is not used for identifying their capabilities and help them improvise. Learning Outcomes does exactly that. It will help in analysing data and generate results that can in turn be used as a feedback mechanism that will complete the learning loop. They plan to make Learning Outcomes an efficient way for teachers to engage parents in their child’s growth.

party

Among Shakespeare’s many utterances, calling the world a stage and all of us mere players is quote that all drama enthusiasts easily identify with. Drama as an art form is indeed the perfect metaphor for life, and IIM Bangalore students have always had a fond appreciation for the life lessons that can be imbibed through dramatics.

It is therefore with a great sense of pride that IIM Bangalore accepted an invite to perform its play “Party” as part of the Bangalore Theatre League & Tea arts initiative at Alliance Francaise, Millers Tank Road on the 3rd of March, 2013.
