Gurukul , the faculty –student interaction club of IIMB, organised its flag-ship event, an informal dinner with faculty, on 27th  February.

Prof. Vaidyanathan, UTI chair professor of Finance & Control  at IIMB was the guest faculty for the evening.

The event started with the introduction of Professor  Vaidyanathan , followed by a musical felicitation by PGP first year students and an inaugural cake cutting ceremony.

The interaction kicked off with  the master of ceremony, asking a round of questions from the students  that resulted in a hot rapid fire round.

The students also quizzed the Professor on professional and personal fronts. The graduating senior batch was keen to know about the life after graduation and the connection that they would have with their Alma-mater and Professors.  Being one of the most popular Professors , who had the distinguished ability to amalgamate education and humour, he acted as a mentor commending the students for their hard-work and wishing them all the best for their endeavours. The atmosphere was of comradery, reminding everybody of the strong bonds that the IIMB community has and the fact that we have each other to fall back on when in need.

The chat was followed by a traditional south Indian banana leaf platter dinner that had all the favourite delicacies of the professor. The dinner was served by the students ,bringing back the ancient traditions of Gurukul days. The Professor  also distributed gift vouchers to Lucky draw winners  and students present.

The students presented Prof. Vaidyanathan with a memento and hand written greeting card at the end of the event.

The event organisers and the students enjoyed the interaction with the legendary Investments Professor.

The event served as a reminder of the fact that whoever we may become in future, the student in us stays alive and so does the love and respect for our professors.
